Caramel chai hot chocolate

It’s always fun to have lots of delicious treats up your sleeve. In fact, it’s not only fun, it’s essential if you’re as greedy as me. I like to play around with classics and this hot chocolate is absolutely incredible. Caramel chai hot chocolate. White chocolate lovers and anyone with a sweet tooth will love this one. Gently spiced and rich with the caramel, this is a beauty of a dessert drink. Great for a cosy night in. 

Chai and caramel are so lovely with white chocolate and really give it so much more flavour. Completely satisfying. This recipe is made in minutes and with one a handful of ingredients is a speedy treat to whip up. 

Ingredients

500ml milk of your choice (I use semi skimmed)

120g white chocolate (something really indulgent with bags of vanilla is best, I like Green and Blacks) 

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp caramel (I like to use Carnation dulce de leche)

pinch of salt

2 chai tea bags

½ tsp ground cinnamon 

Double cream and marshmallows to serve on top (optional)

Serves 2-3 glasses

Method for caramel chai hot chocolate 

This is an easy, but completely indulgent and delicious recipe to put together. 

Add in all the ingredients to a pan on a medium heat. (The milk, chocolate, salt, vanilla extract, teabags, cinnamon and dulce de leche). 

Whisk gradually to break up to help melt the chocolate. 

When the hot chocolate mixture begins to steam, which takes about 5 minutes or so,  before it starts to simmer, turn it off the heat.

Pop the hot chocolate through a strainer to remove the tea bags and any other grainy parts from the spices. 

Serve in mugs or hot chocolate glasses straight away. If you like, add a little extra drizzle of dulce de leche, cream and marshmallows for a particularly cheeky drink.
