Easter hot chocolate

Easter hot chocolate

Easter is definitely the time for indulgence and that of course means chocolate. Chocolate on top of chocolate. This hot chocolate is as yummy as it is simple to make. A mixture of milk and dark chocolate makes this extra yummy and then you can add your choice of delicious Easter toppings for a joyful springtime celebration.

Homemade hot chocolate always tastes so rich and delicious. Such a treat to celebrate the season. It takes like 5 minutes to make so you can whip this up on a whim whenever you fancy.

500ml milk of your choice (I use semi skimmed)

40g milk chocolate (I use quite affordable chocolates for this recipe, something like Tesco)

40g dark chocolate

1 tsp vanilla extract

pinch of salt

½ tsp coffee powder

Double cream, easter bunnies, chocolate shavings and jelly beans to serve (optional)

Serves 2-3 glasses

Method for Easter hot chocolate

This is an easy, but completely indulgent and delicious recipe to put together.

Add in all the ingredients to a pan on a medium heat. (The milk, chocolate, salt, vanilla extract, coffee). Whisk gradually to break up to help melt the chocolate.

When the hot chocolate mixture begins to steam, which takes about 5 minutes or so,  before it starts to simmer, turn it off the heat.

Serve in mugs or hot chocolate glasses straight away. If you like, serve, with some double cream, add some chocolate shavings, some of your favourite Easter chocolates and jelly beans for a seriously celebratory and delicious drink.

Enjoy straight away.
